Mass Communications - Print/Broadcast Journalism
Whether it’s winning a Pulitzer Prize, bringing home an Emmy or just learning to be a better communicator, Mass Communications provides students with a head start into the real world with skills that can’t be mastered anywhere else.
Mass Communications offers students the chance to find out if the fast-paced world of journalism is for them. Students have the chance to learn the latest techniques in print, online and broadcast media and immediately put this knowledge into action.
By creating a daily news broadcast, updating the website with the very latest news from Centerville High School or creating a monthly news magazine aimed at informing and entertaining the community, students become journalists, working in the community.
Graduates from the Mass Communications program are currently working as newspaper reporters, television anchors, videographers, photographers, public relations specialists and sales and marketing consultants.
